01 What MU/TH/UR Is
MU/TH/UR is a community automation system inspired by the fictional computer system and corporate aesthetic associated with the Alien universe. It provides community management, moderation, information, automation and entertainment functionality inside Discord.
MU/TH/UR does not represent an official Weyland-Yutani system, product, service, artificial intelligence, or software application.
Any fictional terminology such as MU/TH/UR, corporate directives, company announcements, synthetic personnel references, colony administration terminology, or similar material is part of the community's thematic presentation.
02 What the Bot Records
When a member registers, MU/TH/UR stores what they enter in the registration form: their in-game name, platform username, the languages they selected, and their timezone. These are saved alongside their Discord account identifier and tag, together with the dates the record was created and last updated.
Records are kept per Discord server: registering in one server does not register a member anywhere else.
MU/TH/UR also keeps technical records about the community's game servers — names, addresses, player counts, status and similar details retrieved from the hosting provider — so that it can post and refresh status messages.
MU/TH/UR does not read, collect, or store the contents of member conversations.
03 Administration & Corrections
Community administrators and moderators can see the registration details members submit, and use them to organise the community.
A member can update their own details at any time by re-opening the registration form, which is pre-filled with what they previously entered. To have a registration removed, contact a community administrator in Discord.
Servers discovered at the hosting provider start out unmanaged: MU/TH/UR can read them, but will not restart them or write to their files until an administrator explicitly opts them in.
04 Third-Party Services
MU/TH/UR may interact with Discord and potentially other third-party services, APIs, applications, or platforms to provide community functionality.
Those services remain independently operated by their respective providers. MU/TH/UR does not claim ownership of their trademarks, software, APIs, or other intellectual property.
The availability or functionality of a third-party service may change independently of MU/TH/UR or the Weyland-Yutani community. Use of Discord itself remains subject to Discord's own terms and policies.
05 Availability & No Warranty
MU/TH/UR is a volunteer-run community project, provided as-is and without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, interrupted, restarted, changed, or discontinued at any time and without notice.
Information the bot displays — including game-server status, player counts, and similar figures — is retrieved from third-party services and may be delayed, incomplete, or out of date. It should not be relied upon as authoritative.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the community, its administrators, moderators, and the bot's developers accept no liability for any loss arising from use of, or inability to use, MU/TH/UR.
06 Community Conduct
MU/TH/UR enforces and automates decisions made by the community's administrators. Actions it takes — posting, moderating, assigning roles, or removing content — are the responsibility of the community, not of the software.
Members remain bound by Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines while using the community and the bot.
07 Disclaimer Changes
This disclaimer may be updated as MU/TH/UR evolves. Continued use of the bot following an update constitutes acceptance of the current version of this notice.
